SUNRA, one of the world leaders in electric scooters

SUNRA, one of the world's leading brands of electric scooters, is still little known in Europe, but should gradually begin to make a name for itself with the launch of the futuristic Miku Max and ROBO.

SUNRA is an innovative company that relies heavily on research and development, with no fewer than 500 R&D engineers dedicated to continuous product improvement.

The reliability of SUNRA electric scooters is no longer in doubt. In fact, the manufacturer produces no less than 5 million units a year on its domestic market, a staggering number unimaginable in Europe.

SUNRA ROBO, a high-performance 125cc equivalent

The ROBO is the second model from the SUNRA giant to be offered in Europe.

After the MIKU MAX (50cc equivalent), much appreciated for its futuristic, zany design, the SUNRA ROBO comes with a rather "performance" focus, with a 3000 W rated motor capable of propelling the scooter to a top speed of 80 km/h.

The scooter achieves this top speed thanks to the combination of its two 72V batteries, connected in parallel to power the motor simultaneously.

During our drive test on the ROBO, we noted powerful acceleration (maximum torque of 230N.m), linear acceleration and excellent roadholding.

The Robo is equipped with a brushless Direct Drive maintenance-free. No belts or transmissions, so no more maintenance problems on the drive side!

The only maintenance required is on consumables: brake pads, brake fluid, tires...

In terms of range, the Robo's two 72V20Ah battery packs should enable a 75 kg driver to cover a distance of 100-130 km on a single charge, depending on the type of driving, which is more than enough for most uses.

For greater autonomy, additional batteries can be purchased.

Well-thought-out e-scooter, interesting innovations

The SUNRA ROBO is not only powerful, but also extremely innovative and well thought-out. Below we list the innovations and highlights of this electric scooter:

Ample storage space

SUNRA had the ingenious idea of placing the scooter's two battery packs in the floor, just below the rider's feet.

The two advantages of this judicious choice are :

  • Ample free storage space under the saddle for helmets and other personal items.
  • Excellent weight balance with a low center of gravity; for greater vehicle stability and handling.

Cruise control and intelligent gas pedal handle

The Sunra Robo is equipped with cruise control for greater driving comfort in a straight line.

The scooter also has a very intuitive and absolutely brilliant feature: reverse gear is operated using the accelerator handle, and the rider simply has to turn it in the other direction!

Fingerprint start

A feature inspired by the world of smartphones, the Sunra Robo can be started by simple fingerprint recognition, a methodology we feel is far more practical than the ignition key that you may forget or don't really want to take out of your deep, inaccessible pocket 🙂

Of course, fingerprint ignition has one drawback: When the weather is rainy and the fingerprint reader is covered with water, it will be more difficult to use this function. At that point, you can still start the scooter with the supplied ignition key.

CBS combined braking

The "CBS" combined braking system was invented by Honda, the world's leading thermal scooter manufacturer.

CBS electronically balances front and rear braking to prevent you from making fatal braking errors.

As for the mechanical part, the ROBO's brakes are hydraulic disc brakes with ventilated discs.
