Who is Inmotion?
Inmotion v11 is an Ewheel from the leading urban mobility brand Inmotion, a manufacturer that combines safety, design and fun. Its high-tech products offering a combination of quality and robustness.
Inspired by its victory at the 2007 RoboCup competition in China, INMOTION was founded by a passionate technical team with experience in robotics and vehicle dynamics.
Based in Shenzhen, China’s Silicon Valley, INMOTION now excels in robotics as well as in compact transportation devices such as the ewheel.
Inmotion is undoubtedly the world leader in the electric unicycle market with tens of thousands of active users.
Inmotion’s unicycles are reliable, water resistant, technological, efficient, well equipped and connected (iOS and Android mobile applications).
Inmotion V11, a major innovation
The Inmotion V11 is the first electric unicycle in the world to be equipped with suspensions, a major innovation that brings, for the first time, a significant mechanical improvement to the invention of Shane Chen (inventor of the wheel).
Equipping the wheel with vertical suspensions is a brilliant move by Inmotion’s engineers who understood that the lack of damping, from a “usage” point of view, is the main weak point of this type of tranporation tool…
The suspensions act to greatly improve the riding comfort, the reliability of the monowheel (less shocks on the electronics) and to allow the user to travel on a wider diversity of terrains.
The V11 suspensions, coupled with an 18″ x 3″ ultra wide tire and very large pedals should make it the most comfortable monowheel on the market so far for the greater good of our bones and joints 🙂
Performance: Inmotion catches up with its competitors
We have to admit that up until now, Inmotion’s e-wheels were significantly outmatched in terms of performance by KingSong and Gotway’s competitors.
With the Inmotion V11, the manufacturer is catching up and offering us one of the most powerful wheels on the market so far.
The V11 is equipped with a motor of 2200W (nominal power) powered by a Samsung battery of 1500Wh, which would allow you to travel up to 120 km on a single charge at speeds up to 50 km/h **.
As for the recharging capacities, here again, Inmotion is catching up with KingSong by equipping the V11 with a twin charging ports, thus allowing you to divide the charging time by 2, provided you have two chargers.
Finally, as far as handling and adherence are concerned, the 18″ x 3″ ultra wide tire offers an excellent grip to the ground and is expected to tackle all types of terrains.
Beware, the 18″ is a format that is not very easy to handle and requires more training than the 16″ and 14″ formats.
Highlights of the Inmotion V11
Trolley
Solid and very easily retractable “scorpion tail” trolley. This type of trolleys fit the shape of the e-wheels it is installed on, is easy to manipulate and give good control over the machine when used.
Suspensions
A major innovation in the domain. More comfort, more safety and a machine that will endure over time (the dampening protects and extends the life of the mechanical and electronic components of the V11).
Kickstand
An excellent feature that will allow you to “park” your Inmotion V11 with great ease in a wide range of situations. The Inmotion V11’s kick stand folds and unfolds in solid, discreet and fold/unfolds in less than 2 seconds.
A real stop light
Most e-wheels are not very visible from behind and for good reason : the lights are often undersized. The Inmotion V11 is very well equipped in this regard with well-sized red stop LEDs that ressemble what you could find on a moped.
Wide pedals
It’s very tiresome to ride with undersized pedals. Inmotion designed the V11 with large, ultra-wide pedals for a more comfortable ride. It is worth noticing that the pedals are high enough to not create issues for the riders while turning.
Powerful Headlight
The 7800 lux headlight of the Inmotion V11 is powerful and has a lighting range similar to that of a moped headlight.
Being visible is very important when riding an e-wheel because the wheeler is very vulnerable on the road.
Cooling system
The cooling system of the Inmotion V11 is very useful for longer rides and excursions. A powerful E-wheel needs a performant cooling system because the faster it goes, the faster its electronic component heat. A smart feature for an e-wheel that is meant to be an all-terrain and off-roader.
