Dualtron Storm, the Thunder’s heir
The Dualtron Storm is the heir of the Dualtron Thunder. It is more powerful, better equipped, more comfortable and more ingenious.
The Dualtron Thunder was already an exceptional electric scooter, very popular and favored by many riders around the world.
The idea behind the Dualtron Storm is simple: correct the shortcomings of the Thunder, while staying on the same base, through improvements inspired by feedback from the previous generation.
The Dualtron Storm is scheduled for release in September/October 2020.
Technical characteristics of the STORM
The Dualtron Storm is equipped with two Brushless Direct Drive (HUB) motors delivering a maximum power of 6640W, enough to propel you to incredible and somehow scary speeds exceeding 100 km/h.
Regarding the autonomy of the Storm, it should be around one hundred kilometers since the scooter is equipped with a battery LG 72V 31.5Ah.
LG cells are among the best on the market and the Storm’s battery should stand up well to the weather.
More Characteristics
The Storm offers many charging options. You can charge the scooter in 21 hours with the standard charger (1.5A) supplied as standard, or plug in two standard chargers at the same time to cut the charging time in half.
For an additional charge, you can purchase a fast charger for Dualtron Storm (5 or 6.5A depending on the version), to achieve charging times of less than 5 hours.
Mechanical wise :
- The Storm is equipped, as was the Thunder, with a dual braking system: hydraulic discs (160mm vs 140mm previously) and motor braking (magnetic) with adjustable intensity.
- The scooter is equipped with 11″ tubeless tires
- Adjustable front and rear suspensions
- Double clamping rings for the folding system
What’s new compared to the Thunder?
- The folding system has been improved with the addition of double clamping rings for better stability and less handlebar play over time.
- The Dualtron Storm’s battery is removable, which is great news for hikers who would like to buy extra batteries and switch easily while riding. This is also a great way to deter theft.
- The Storm’s frame and handlebars are made from aircraft aluminum.
- The Storm’s rubber suspensions are adjustable with 45 possible configurations (variable suspension system on 9 levels + 5 types of rubber cartridges)
- Reinforced kickstand.
- Red rear lights and warnings are in a higher position for better visibility.
- Ultra-simplified 11″ tubeless tire replacement for the Storm compared to the laborious process of the Thunder.
